Help With Weight Loss From Your Midsection

burn the fat feed the muscle tom venuto

Look around and you will see the new species of human beings already walking the face of the earth. They are an interesting species, extremely large around the mid section, but having ill developed feet and hands.

Consequently these people have a tendency to fall prey to obesity evils like heart attack, diabetes and osteoporosis.

Are you one of them?

Do you spend your precious time wondering how to lose that extra flab from your mid riff and acquire those killer six pack abs of your favorite celebrity.

Well, before, we delve into the secrets of acquiring that washboard flat ab, let me suggest how you can burn fat fast in the middle section.

Your diet makes a lot of difference in your ability to lose abdominal fat.

Do you know the four must follow rules of a healthy existence?

1)  drink at least 15 glasses of water every day

2)  get adequate sleep, i.e, at least 7-8 hours at night

3)  proper exercise

4)  and nutrition.

It has been proved scientifically that people who get inadequate sleep everyday tend to put on weight more easily than others.

It is important to drink enough water, as water forms the reaction medium for all sorts of metabolism inside your body. Dehydration leads to stiffening of body tissues and deposition of excess fat in your arteries and veins.

The foods to eat to lose weight for you depends entirely on the type of metabolism you possess.

Generally, nutritionists recommend you cut down on excess carbohydrates and fat, increase your intake of protein, fibers, complex carbs, healthy fats like cod liver oil, and foods rich in minerals and vitamins.

Anything in excess acts like a poison in your body, slowing down your body’s metabolism and depositing excess fats in your mid section. Instead of having three large meals in a day, try eating your food in six small portions around the clock. That way your body’s metabolic system will be giving its best performance, providing you with the requisite energy and not allowing any calories to be stored up as fat.

Don’t skip breakfast, and have a small meal every 2-3 hours after that. Do not starve yourself! Losing your excess mid riff bulk doesn’t mean becoming anorexic. If you think starving yourself will guarantee that your body uses up the stored reserves of fat to provide you with energy, you are grossly mistaken! This will only cause acidity and other gastric problems leading to stomach ulcers.

A program that genuinely helps both men and women lose body fat and get a six pack, which is very popular at the moment is the truth about six pack abs by mike geary

Remove the impurities and toxins from your body by consuming fiber supplements and body wraps. Detoxification helps your body to function properly. Just as a machine with impurities in its engine cannot perform efficiently, so our body also cannot fight the battle to knock off mid riff weight with impurities wreaking havoc in your system.

Does your work require sitting in front of the computer for long hours every day? While you are at work, maybe you can’t resist the temptation to enjoy a tasty hamburger or doughnut, these junk foods hasten your impending doom.

Why don’t you try doing yoga? Yoga prescribes some amazing breathing exercises which have been found to be very effective in losing belly flab and lowering one’s blood sugar level. That means killing two birds with one stone...

Intense cardiovascular exercises at least 2-3 times a week is necessary to keep up your heart rate. These exercises must be done using proper techniques in a controlled manner, so that every abdominal muscle (upper abs, lower abs and obliques) gets adequate exercise and in no time, you will possess a killer middle section!

Is Lipoic Acid A Powerful Antioxidant?

nutritional value

What neutralizes free radicals in both watery and fatty regions of cells? What produces energy by converting glucose for our body's normal function? Lipoic acid or alpha lipoic acid (ALA). ALA is used to treat diabetic neuropathy, hepatitis and more. Our bodies produce this antioxidant nutrition in small amounts and it occurs naturally in organ meats, peas, rice bran, Brewer's yeast, Brussels sprouts and broccoli. Supplementation is a good way to get an added boost. What other ailments is it used to treat and how much should you take? Why don't we take a look?

What makes ALA unique and gives it nutritional value is that it is both water and fat soluble, unlike the more common antioxidants vitamins C and E, and it appears to be able to recycle and extend the metabolic lifespan of antioxidants such as of vitamin C, glutathione, and coenzyme Q10, and it indirectly renews vitamin E. Vitamin C lessens oxidative stress while glutathione helps detoxify the liver. Coenzyme Q10 helps convert food energy into energy inside every cell while vitamin E helps with nerve conduction.

Used to treat a common complication of diabetes called peripheral neuropathy, Lipoic acid speeds the removal of glucose from the bloodstream. It enhances insulin function and reduces insulin resistance, which are the basis of most cases of obesity and coronary heart disease. ALA quickly and greatly reduces the severity and incidence of symptoms like burning and sharply cutting pain, numbness and prickling sensations felt in diabetic neuropathy.

Free radical damage is thought to contribute to aging and chronic illness. ALA helps neutralize those harmful chemicals. ALA can cross the blood-brain barrier; a wall of tiny vessels and structural cells, and pass easily into the brain. It is thought to protect brain and nerve tissue by preventing free radical damage and is used to treat Alzheimer's disease. Because of those reasons, ALA is also used as a nutritional supplement to treat a myriad of other illnesses and diseases like cataracts, hardening of the arteries, hepatitis, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, high cholesterol levels, and even human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Lipoic acid has very few side effects. Some that have been reported include headache, tingling or a "pins and needles" sensation, skin rash, or muscle cramps. Since ALA may improve blood sugar control, people with diabetes who are taking medication to lower blood sugar should only take ALA under the supervision of a qualified health professional and have their blood sugar levels carefully monitored. It may alter thyroid hormone levels, so people taking thyroid medications should be monitored by their healthcare provider.

The Benefits Elliptical Trainers Offer

We all know what are elliptical trainers for and how they look, but what do you actually get by using these machines? It's best if we go over some key benefits of the many benefits that a elliptical trainer provides which will show you why they are becoming more popular then ever.

When you use elliptical trainer at your home, you are saving a lot of time, and that is one of the best benefits you can get. There are many people who lead extremely busy lives and do not have a great deal of free time to spend exercising and keep their body in good health. What elliptical machine is doing for you is really extraordinary, it removes the need for a gym, it saves you a lot of time and you don't need to spend money as much as you would on a gym. Should You Perform Stretching Exercises Before Playing Golf?

The game of golf is a great deal more movement intensive than many people that do not play the sport on a regular basis realize.  When golfing, people are using a wide range of the muscles in their body to twist, swing, and follow through on their shots, all of which expose the person to the risk of injury by straining a muscle or pulling a tendon that is tight because it has not been stretched in a while.  One of the best ways as a golfer to prevent from getting injured is to perform golf stretching exercises before any golf round.

Discovering Golf Stretching Exercise Methods

There are a lot of golf stretching exercise techniques that a golfer can find for them to stretch their muscles before they start playing golf.  The type of technique that works best for the golfer will vary from person to person depending on the physical shape that the person is in and how much flexibility the person already has.  For seniors that like to participate in golf, there are low impact and low intensity exercises like calisthenics that can improve their muscle tone to make the sport more enjoyable.

Many people are going to want to go to the golfing pros they are working on improving their game with when they need to learn some golf stretching exercise techniques.  At the start of each golf session, the exercises are practiced with the pro overseeing them for correctness, and to provide any needed refinements.  Prior to leaving for the golf course, the golfers can continue to do the exercises on their own once lessons have been completed.

Details about proper way of stretching before a golf round are available in golf stretching exercise DVD's released by number of different experts.  You can usually find the dvd in most golf themed stores.  The majority of the golf DVD deals with tips to help improve a golfer's game whereas in some cases the golf stretching exercise is only a fraction of the DVD's content.

There are many websites that provide golfing resources and that are dedicated to helping someone improve their game, so the internet can be an excellent source for finding good stretching exercises and techniques suited to golfing.  Many of these websites will have detailed descriptions of how to do the exercises along with illustrations that the person can use to make sure that they are doing the exercises correctly.  The majority of these websites were either reviewed with, or written by, those revered as golf experts; several of the golf stretching techniques described on these sites are used by the experts themselves to stay in shape for golf.

For Pilates Workouts Is Free Best?

These days individuals are used to getting things "Free" . They don't want to pay for information and assume that if it's "Free" it's got to be good.

However, getting "Free" physical exercises may not always be the best approach. I'll explain:

There are two things that you need to bear in mind when you consider Free Pilates Exercises.

Suitability

Pilates exercises are good because they are designed to work specific muscles in a safe and efficient way. The only way you are really going to know if you are doing a Pilates move correctly is to be observed by a registered teacher in a class. If you attempt to do Pilates at home, on your own, from a book or a DVD how, in Heaven's name are you going to know if your form is correct

Even if you are lucky enough to have all round mirrors (and and most people don't), as soon as you turn your head to check you're in the right place, you will be out of alignment. Some of the teaching points for a Pilates workout are subtle, and sometimes even for an experienced instructor they can be difficult to spot in a customer.

Pilates is very "hands on". In other words, your teacher (as well as giving you verbal cues to help you get into the right position), may come over to you and gently move you around, so that you can feel the emphasis of that particular exercise in the right group of muscles. Consequently, a novice attempting to teach themselves will get none of this required feedback.

I'm not saying for a moment that no -cost downloadable Pilates exercises - or those learnt from a book or DVD for that matter, aren't worthwhile. Frankly, any exercise that you do will benefit you.

And if you do Pilates At Home, you will get an idea of what Pilates is all about and whether you would like going to a class. You will be able to do at home what you have learned in class - and you will be reminded of all the teaching points before you do the exercise.

People are strange; if they book and pay to come to a private class they tend to turn up on time, be far more consistent about attending frequently and therefore, get most benefit from Pilates.

Even So, in my experience, if the classes (same studio, same teacher!) come as part of a membership package at a gymnasium, consistent attendance takes a nosedive! Because they are getting the class for free (sort of), they often don't bother to turn up on a regular basis (It was raining: I was tired: I thought I'd go to LatinoGrooveAerobics instead; etc) and when they do turn up, a lot of them are just going through the motions - because they haven't been coming often enough for it to make any difference whatsoever.

The trouble with "free" is that people tend to value things in direct proportion to how much money they've paid out. And to get anywhere with Pilates, you have got to do it on a regular basis.

Whether they come free or not, Pilates exercises are immeasurably valuable. Just do them.

Just imagine how fantastic you'll feel when you live life with a body that is free from aches and pains.

Pilates if practiced regulary promises all these benefits and more. It has for myself and my clients so why not give it a go all you've got to lose is the pain.

Secrets to building big biceps

There is only one way to train your biceps in order to get maximum growth and that is to train them short and intensely. All to often I see people in the gym training their biceps for 30 minutes, get real people the bicep muscle is a small muscle anatomically and is very easy to overtrain. To build big biceps keep it short and intense. Lets take a look at some essential pointers that you need to follow to build big biceps in extra quick time.

  •         The biceps need to be overloaded periodically which means repping to failure, pumping out that last rep with focussed intensity squeezing each rep at the top of the movement

  •      In order to build big biceps your workout should not take no more than 15 minutes to perform. Keep it short and intense.

  •        Recouperation is vital in order to build big biceps. As mentioned the the bicep muscle is small in comparison to larger muscle groups, for your biceps to fully recouperate after an intense workout will take in the order of 5 to 6 days!!

So there you go follow the guidelines above and big biceps will be yours, now lets look at the exercises you will be performing to build those big guns. Always warm up thoroughly

Exercise #1: Standing Barbell Curls (perform 2 sets)

This is the staple exercise for adding bicep mass.

Start with a narrow grip hands 8-10 inches apart. In a controlled movement with no swinging elbows close in at your side, curl the barbell using bicep power to shoulder level and squeeze those biceps. For extra intensity, resist strongly on the lowering of the barbell to the start position. Aim for 8-10 reps with a moderate to heavy weight.

Exercise #2: Incline Dumbbell Curls (perform 2 sets)

Lie on a 35 degree incline bench, grasping a pair of moderately weighted dumbbells, arms straight down. Curl the dumbbells up simultaneously with no swinging to the vicinity of your shoulders and aqueeze. Resist strongly on the lowering part and get a full stretch at the bottom position. Aim for 8-12 rep range.

Exercise #3: Hammer Curls with Rope (perform 2 sets)

Stand straight up holding a dumbbell in each arm at your sides. Start with your palms facing inwards, curl the dumbbells to shoulder level and squeeze hard. Resist strongly on the lowering part and get a full stretch at the bottom position. Aim for 8-12 rep range.

Home Exercise Equipment - Finding The Right Type For You

Titan T1 The Ultimate Home Gym Fitness Equipment

High on the list of 'how to get in shape' is the suggestion that you buy some home exercise equipment. Home exercise equipment has a mass appeal, especially for people who have busy schedules, or have just began to work out and do not want to be the out of shape person at the gym. Many people also feel that they could stick with an exercise routine if they didn't have to leave the house, but the reality is that most people's home exercise equipment is restricted to a few pieces of equipment. With this in mind, what should those few pieces of home exercise equipment be?

The type of home exercise equipment a person buys should depend on their fitness goals and what kind of work out they enjoy. Although it is somewhat stereotypical, many men opt for weight training and bodybuilding, while the majority of women focus on cardiovascular fitness. For having health that is optimal, a diverse balance of body building, weight training, as well as activity that involves cardiovascular is the ideal strategy, yet for your first piece of home exercise equipment, it is best to select something you are familiar with as well as enjoy. A lot of guys will opt for the bench press, which gives them a bar and weights, in addition to the bench, allowing them to do a variety of lifts like curls, squats, and other bodybuilding lifts. However, if a traditional bench press set take up too much room, a small bench and a dumbbell set can be just as effective. Not only can you do a mock bench press with dumbbells, you can do many other weight training exercises that focus on specific muscle groups.

Women, on the other hand, many times fear that weightlifting will cause their muscle to be in too good of shape and bulge out grotesquely. However, it would take years of intense training for a guy or girl to attain that kind of appearance from working out. Instead, for most women, it allows them another way to tone their arms and back, giving them more confidence when wearing sleeveless or open back tops.

However, maintaining good cardiovascular health is important too. Some of the most popular home exercise equipment for cardiovascular health is the exercise bike and treadmill. The elliptical has also become very popular in recent years. Many people decide to buy a bicycle for their home exercise equipment as a way of getting out of the house and doing something. However, there are many times of the year that weather conditions do not permit one to ride a bike, or make it undesirable.

Regardless of what kind of exercise habits you currently have, you should select home exercise equipment that will motivate you to create a realistic exercise routine. Your first piece of home exercise equipment should provide a workout you enjoy doing, or that you will enjoy the results of. If you can make working out in your home a rewarding experience and not simply work that you guilt yourself into doing, then you are much more likely to get years of use out of your home exercise equipment.

The Secret To Getting Huge

If you’ve been working out for a while then you probably already know that there’s a lot more to adding muscle to your body then just going to the gym, pumping iron and ripping through your latest workout plan. Depending on how long you’ve been hitting the gym you may or may not know that just as important to working out and hitting the weights in the gym is rest and nutrition.

You won’t add anywhere near as much muscle as you would if you were sleeping enough and providing your body with the right nutrients it needs to grow. If you’re not sleeping at least 7-8 hours a night and if you’re not consuming at least 1 gram of protein for every pound you weigh then there’s a good chance that you’re not getting everything you can out of your workouts in the gym. And I don’t know about you but I’m not going to let a lack of sleep or a lack of sufficient protein intake nullify my bodybuilding workout.

Ok so let’s get right into three things you can do today that will absolutely skyrocket your gains if you’re not already doing them. The only thing you need to make this work is some kind of protein/carbohydrate powder mix. These tips all revolve around supplementing with carbohydrates and protein at the right times to maximize your muscle building potential.

First things first you want to pound a shake right after you workout. This one is the most critical because right after a workout your muscles are vulnerable. Your muscles are spent and your body has been wiped out of any nutrients you may have consumed earlier. You see when you workout you expend a lot of energy and basically after a hard workout your body is starving and your muscles are literally like sponges. This is the ideal time to consume protein and carbohydrates if your goal is to pack on some serious muscle.

Along with right after your workout you also want to consume a carb/ protein shake first thing in the morning. Unless you're waking up in the middle of the night to eat when you wake up your body is starving. FEED IT! When your body doesn’t have anything in it’s stomach to burn for energy it’ll go after your muscles and fat.

Do you want your body chewing on your hard earned muscles for energy?

Of course not so feed it first thing in the morning. Professional bodybuilders have been known to set alarms for the middle of the night so they can wake up and pound a protein shake before returning to sleep. That’s extreme but the point is that you may be losing a tiny bit of muscle at night and you want to stop that as soon as you wake up.

Last but not least make sure you drink some milk and eat some cottage cheese before you turn in for the night. In the previous paragraph I talked about how the potential to lose muscle in the middle of the night while you’re sleeping is real. Well you can prevent that be drinking milk and eating cottage cheese before you go to bed. Both contain casein which is a form of protein that is slowly leaked into you system because it’s hard to digest. You’ve heard of whey protein well this is his brother casein protein and if you use it wisely you can build muscle in the middle of the night instead of losing it!

An Aerobic Step Bench Can Increase The Intensity of Your Workout

Aerobic exercise is one of the best ways to improve your overall health and lose weight as well. This type of exercise takes many different forms, such as running, walking, jumping rope, kickboxing and dance. If you’ve begun to progress past the benefits that regular dance aerobics can provide, you may want to consider increasing the difficulty by adding an aerobic step bench to your workout.

Advantages

Many of your intermediate aerobics classes will include the use of an aerobic step bench. You could go this route, or you can purchase your own and use it at home. Either way, it’s a great addition to your workout. Many people are already familiar with stepping as a form of exercise. Stair climbers and other step machines are quite popular. Adding an aerobic step bench to your routine will give you the cardiovascular workout you’re used to, as well as added attention to your legs and buttocks. This is a great form of strength training and toning for these parts of your body.

This also has an advantage for people who cannot take the stress and jarring associated with other forms of aerobic fitness, such as running and jumping. Although there is some impact, it is considerably less than these other exercises. People who have joint or back problems will find this to be a suitable alternative to running.

Aerobic step benches can be used as part of an aerobic routine, or they can be used as a workout in themselves. The first is called step aerobics, and the second is called bench stepping. One is part of a routine designed for total body workout, and the other is for when you want to focus on that particular part of the body.

Aerobic step benches come in all shapes and sizes. Adjustable height benches are also available to allow you to increase the intensity as you progress. When stepping on the bench, make sure that the entire foot is on the surface. Step close to the platform to prevent over-extending yourself. Another way to avoid injury is by looking at the bench while you are using. This will prevent tripping or turning an ankle by stepping on the edge of the platform.

There are some people that should avoid using aerobic step benches. People who are obese should not risk the stress on their knees and back. Start out with some simple walking to get your body used to activity before moving to aerobic exercise or step aerobics. Obviously, people who have balance problems should also shy away from this type of workout. If you’re not sure whether this type of exercise is for you, the best thing to do is consult your doctor.

Learn How to Boost your Metabolism

Cutting calories in the food you eat can help you lose weight and stay healthy. However, a fast metabolism will burn calories much faster. So it does not matter if you are running at the time, or if you are sitting still. If you have done some work out to build muscle and boost metabolism, your metabolism stays revved up. So please stop eating those delicious chocolate caramels.

Fast weight loss comes in no way better than with a fast metabolism. Much of the food you eat and the calories it contains stay in your body when metabolism is slow. You are however able to live a healthier life when your systems works just a bit faster.

Yes, it’s good to boost up your metabolism but don’t make it “too” fast. There is such a thing as having a metabolism that is too fast. The body does need a certain amount of fat in it to stay healthy. If your metabolism causes you to consume all the fat all too soon, the flipside is that you might end up worse off. Speed up your metabolism, but don’t overdo it. But if you are weak enough when it comes to eating candies, at least try the calorie-free chocolate.

The slower your metabolism is, the more likely you are to get fat, and the more chances you have of getting ill. On the contrary, a faster metabolism makes you a lot less susceptible to diseases;  also, it will help you cut down on the fat. I'm sure you'd like it like that. But do you have the discipline and will-power necessary to see it through?

Foods that you eat contain calories. But by engaging in lots of exercise you do yourself a ton of good. You see, the exercises that you do help to burn these calories, they speed up your metabolism such that the calories are either consumed or passed out. You simply have to watch out that it doesn’t get too much, though. You could hurt yourself.

You are a happier person, by and by, if your metabolism is fast enough. Not too fast – that is just as bad as having a slow metabolism. Rather, you just want it to be appropriate. And who wouldn't? Just make sure you do it right. Many people do it wrong and end up complicating their system, instead of helping it. Don't let this happen to do. Boost your metabolism – yes, but do it in moderation, not in excess.

Staying healthy is really quite as simple as knowing what to do. If you are in constant touch with your doctor, you should know quickly if your condition is related to the amount of calories you burn or store up. Then you would know if what you need is to quicken or slow down your metabolism. That’s why a constant visit to your doctor for checkup and general advice is critical to your well being.

You need calories in your body – we all do. However, you also need to get them out once they are no longer being used. By not using up all the calories in your body, you are setting yourself up for cardiovascular issues in the future. The solution, quite simply, is to always work each and every day on boosting your rate of metabolism.

Some very good cardiovascular exercises that help to boost your metabolism are running, jogging, swimming, biking and dancing. The amount of energy you use up with these things account for much of the calories that you take into your body. By burning the calories, you are improving the quality of your life. It’s funny but lots of people engage in these kinds of exercises for the fun of it. So, why should it be so hard for you to jog, swim, dance or playfully ride a bike, since you know they are very important to your health?

Your muscle mass affects your metabolism. Unfortunately, a lot of ladies think muscles are strictly for guys, so they neglect this and get fat. Two words: slow metabolism. They could change this anytime they like by adding some muscle and speeding up their metabolism. And of course, I am talking to you too – get some muscles and you will be the better for it.

If you are thinking of the best form of exercise to engage in, listen to this - Running is perhaps the best and most common exercise you could perform daily to stay healthy. It not only keeps you fit, it also speeds up your metabolism. You will find soon that your body no longer stores up calories and fat like it used to. Lots of those people you see who live long and healthy confirm that daily jogging around their neighborhood is part of their daily regimen.

A very good technique these days in boosting metabolism is engaging in resistance training. Many people know this but they don't go ahead to do it. You see, resistance training works wonders on anyone's metabolism. Ladies think all kinds of training are meant only for men, but there are wrong. They too can practice resistance training. In fact, anyone can “resistance train”; their cardiovascular activities could use the boost.

Sometimes you respond to your environment based on the way your metabolism works, sometimes it’s vice versa. However you look at it, your metabolism plays a very important role in your overall wellbeing. Some people think that boosting it makes them all that better. I think that they are not wrong. ;They are actually very correct. If you want to feel better and look healthier, then you should do everything to boost your metabolism today.

When your metabolism is fast, you will find that a lot of diseases that used to put you down before don't get you anymore. The reason is that the stuff that makes you sick can no longer stay in that environment; instead, it is pushed out in a quicker hurry. On your part, you get to achieve your faster metabolism. Isn't that reason enough to work towards boosting your metabolism? Avoid high calories desserts.

You need to be able to drive the desirable but thermodynamically unfavorable reactions in your system. They are crucial to your metabolism so you must couple them into something more favorable. The enzymes in your body help to do this, and they do it better when your metabolism is faster. You should think about it for just a few seconds before you decide that is the way to go, because it is.

Your metabolic rate also influences how much food you will require on the long run. If your metabolism is too fast, you will find yourself eating much a lot of the time, yet you would not be adding weight. Conversely, a slow metabolism harms you because you get not to eat, even when you need it. So you have to watch it every step of the way.

Lose Belly Fat By Eating Slowly

Believe it or not, the rate with which you go at your meals really makes some change in your overall weight. As a simple way to lose excess fat this is among the best.

To feel full actually takes less food when you take your time when eating. Here are a few tricks to aid you release from the bad habit of rushing your meals and therefore overeating.

Chew each mouthful over and over before you actually send it to your stomach. The extra seconds that you take to chew will help you to feel more contented without the need for such a big quantity. This also means you are able to digest the food more easily.

What until you have swallowed the load you are chewing before getting another ready. Attempt putting the spoon on the plate until you swallow your food and are ready to start with another mouthful. One more point here with the battle to lose body fat fast is that this bit is very much mind control.

It halts the routine of over eating, from eating too quickly. A case in point would be the French who not only eat less but take time over it too. They are doing two things that help them to remain thin.

Another point of note here is that continental Europeans often dine together with family. The family together talk more and this helps to slow down the rate. Another bonus is it also aids in keeping the family close..

As you start to do this you will notice you are able to take more pleasure in your meals. You will give yourself more time to enjoy the flavors in the food.

It takes a little time after eating food for your body to catch on to the fact that it has had enough. A lot of people eat too much when they eat too fast only because they think they still need more. Do not eat until you are unable to eat any more.

Every other day do a routine of sit-ups, crunches, squats, jumping jacks, push-ups, calf raises, and stretches. These will get your muscles toned and fit without any expensive weight equipment.

Running

If you like to workout at a brisk pace, then running may be the exercise for you. It burns more calories than walking, strengthens your heart, and boosts your cardio.

Yoga

If you want to get more flexible and build toned muscle, then yoga may be the equipment-free exercise you've been looking for. It is also gentle on your joints and muscles. You don't need a yoga guru or class to get started. You can pick up a book about it in your local library to learn some beginner's moves and you can use a folded blanket as a yoga mat.

Dance

Dancing is a fantastic cardio exercise. All it requires is a radio and you're ready to go. Who says you need to know dance moves? Wiggling and jiggling to the beat is good enough to work up a good sweat and increase your heart rate.

See? No need to have fancy equipment. All you need is determination to get fit and one of these simple activities. A little bit of exercise like this can be an effective diet program when combined with an eating strategy like the one in this Fatloss4idiots review.

Learn The Facts You Should Fully Understand Before Having Liposuction

Liposuction is also known as lipectomy ("suction-assisted fat removal"), lipoplasty ("fat modeling") or liposculpture and is a form of body contouring. In other words fat is extracted from different parts of the body to help achieve a desired shape. Liposuction has been available since the nineteen sixties however it is only since the nineteen nineties that it has become so immensely popular. Prior to this the techniques utilized were less successful, often with mixed results. It was in the nineteen nineties that ultrasound was incorporated into the liposuction technique, which made it less difficult to remove larger amounts of body fat. This was achieved by liquefying the fat first.

It isn't only women who seek the help of liposuction surgeons but also men. Twenty years ago this rarely ever happened, but in today's society men are often having the very same beauty treatments as women. Men commonly like to have specific areas of the body enhanced, such as, abdomen, flanks and male breasts, women commonly wish to contour such regions of the body as the hips, abdomen and thighs. Whichever area one chooses to have reshaped it would be clever to keep in mind that all cosmetic surgery can carry a certain amount of risk. Unfortunately there are negative aspects to having liposuction, if an extreme amount of fat is removed, the area can often be lumpy, or appear to have rifts in the skin.

One important point concerning liposuction, which must never be avoided, is that it is not, under any circumstances, a low-effort alternative to diet and exercise. There are a great many contraindications to liposuction and one of them is being immensely overweight. cosmetic surgeon will usually refuse to operate on anybody who is severely or morbidly obese. This is not an act of discrimination, but purely a medical decision derived using facts. Patients who are obese are commonly very unfit and not in general good health, both of which nullify one's eligibility for the treatment. There are also risks with anesthesia if you are overweight. The optimal candidates for liposuction are those people who are in generally good shape and healthy, and who who have not smoked tobacco for, at least, a fair few months.

Liposuction is performed either; under local anesthesia, local anesthesia with sedation, or general anesthesia. Firstly the surgeon will make tiny cuts in the skin at the areas where the offending fat is to be extracted. Usually the fat is sucked out via a cannula and aspirator (a hollow tube and a suction device) During the surgery, several contributing factors are taken into consideration which can have an effect upon the amount of fat that can be safely removed. The safety issues are not only related to the amount of fat extracted, but also to the total health of the person being operated on, and the choice of anesthesia used.

Why Are So Many Of Our Children Suffering From Obesity Nowadays?

With obesity rates continuing to soar in in the United States it is perhaps not surprising that we are seeing a growing number of overweight and obese children. Naturally the effects of child obesity are only too obvious, but just what is it that results in childhood obesity?

As is so often the case there is no one cause of childhood obesity and there are various things that give rise to obesity in our children.

For example, it is normally the case that a child with overweight or obese parents will also be overweight or obese and this suggests that there might well be an inherited or genetic component to obesity. However, although this is an area that is actively being looked at, no genetic link has so far been discovered and it is thought far more likely that it is the diet of the family which cause obesity and not genetics.

In recent years we have seen a considerable change in eating habits with fast food restaurants springing up on every street corner, junk food available just about everywhere and the shelves of our supermarkets lined with 'convenience' foods which are usually very high in sugar. The days when we sat down to home cooking are a thing of the past in the majority of households and have been superceded by microwave meals or take-away food. Indeed, a growing number of parents are now opting to take their children out for a pizza instead of preparing meals at home not simply because it is simpler than cooking but also because they do not have to wash up!

Additionally, we have seen a very marked drop in activity levels amongst many groups of children, fuelled in no small degree by the arrival of video games consoles, computers and now the ubiquitous mobile phone. Of course, as activity levels have fallen so children have lost their natural ability to burn off the calories gained from eating an increasing amount of fast food.

The Internet, magazines, television and other types of media also play a part as they dominate our childrens' lives and junk food, fast food and confectionary manufacturers are quick to jump onto this bandwagon and take full advantage of the advertising opportunity provided by the media. Many people would argue that commercials have done more to fuel the rise in childhood obesity than almost anything else in recent years.

There are also several psychological factors at play in the world today and a significant number of children today simply eat if they get bored. They will also turn to the comfort of food when they find themselves stressed, angry, anxious or depressed.

Nowadays a great deal of research is being aimed at the cause of childhood obesity and its treatment and the majority of this is aimed at solving the problem using a combination of diet and exercise once confronted with an obese child. But, with childhood obesity continuing to rise at a disturbing rate, and with the obvious dangers of child obesity, perhaps the time has come to attack the roots of child obesity and to stop our children from becoming obese in the first place.

Weight Loss Drugs

As the world's population continues to increase, the problem of obesity also increases and is now affecting a large number of children of school entry age. Some people go to extreme lengths to change this situation for example with surgery; the most productive method is by exercising more frequently and changing what you eat. Losing weight should be viewed as a long term health benefit and the use of weight loss drugs to help accelerate the process is not necessarily the best course of action.

The process is relatively simple as the drugs act upon the brain's own chemical, serotonin, fooling the brain into believing it's not hungry and at the same time increasing the body's metabolism. That was all well and good until the point where more research had concluded that there was an increased risk of heart valve disease and as a consequence the drugs were withdrawn. Of course the manufacturers did not give up that easily and new drugs were created, these drugs are still being prescribed even though the Federal Drug Administration has not yet approved them.

These weight loss pills have become popular and you can almost guarantee that you will know of someone who has tried them with success. It is a tempting proposition, to lose weight while still maintaining the same diet; who would say no? As a consequence, drug companies spend millions of dollars in research on weight loss drugs while consumers spend even more buying the pills.

Weight control pills can be purchased either over-the-counter or prescribed by a doctor but even with the advances in medical technology they can still cause a lot of health related problems which can be unpleasant such as diarrhea and vomiting. Other harmful side effects include tightness in the chest, urinary tract problems and stroke.

There are many factors that could contribute to any problems you experience and these do not necessarily stop when you cease taking the pills. These effects can be equally unpleasant as the side effects occurring as a result of taking weight control pills.

Although these weight loss drugs do work, an increase in beneficial effects occurs when regular exercise is undertaken along with a change in eating habits. Despite all the bad publicity, weight loss drugs do work but they are more successful if they are used in conjunction with a low calorie diet and regular exercise, preferably using a properly worked out exercise regime. This type of diet requires a balance of the food groups to ensure a proper intake of vitamins, minerals and fiber, almost all of which can be bought at your local supermarket but may require a little preparation.

As far as the exercise is concerned, this needs to be worked out in advance after a physical examination by your doctor. The best exercise plans should have cardiovascular and weight training exercises as this helps burn calories and increase the muscle to fat ratio that will increase a person's metabolism and assist with weight loss.

Gastric Bypass Complications Have To Be Viewed Over A Reasonably Long Time Frame

Gastric bypass surgery (which is also referred to as bariatric or weight loss surgery) is assisting many thousands of morbidly obese people to reduce their risk from life-threatening conditions like sleep apnea and to regain much of their former lifestyle. Problems arising from gastric bypass surgery can however be significant and must be taken into consideration before electing surgery.

Numerous studies have been conducted into rates of gastric bypass complication in the short-term and these frequently follow the progress of patients for up to 30 days after surgery. A more recent study however (examining claims for hospital and outpatient care for in excess of 5,000,000 individuals enrolled in employer sponsored health schemes across forty-nine states and including in excess of 2,500 weight loss patients) has extended the results of previous studies to look in depth at complications arising up to 6 months after surgery.

The study revealed that death occurred during surgery, or in the 6 months following the procedure, in just 0.2% of patients and the most common complications were dumping syndrome (vomiting, reflux and diarrhea) which happened in about 20% of cases, anastomosis problems (such as leakage or restriction at the join of the stomach and the intestine) which happened in roughly 12% of cases, abdominal hernias in 7% of cases, infections in 6% of cases and pneumonia which was seen in roughly 4% of patients.

The study also revealed that approximately 10% or patients who survived the first 30 days without complication subsequently experienced a problem in the following 5 months. In the majority of cases these complications consisted of dumping, abdominal hernia, anastomosis problems, and marginal ulcers. Additionally, although just less than 5% of patients had to be re-admitted during the first 30 day period, this figure increased to a little over 7% when looking at the longer 6 month time period.

The cost of gastric bypass surgery was also impacted significantly by complications and, although people who experienced surgery without problems paid an average of $25,000, complications within the 6 month post-surgical period pushed this figure up to roughly $36,500. Where patients had to be re-admitted for further treatment as a result of gastric bypass complications the cost increased to in excess of $65,000.

Bariatric surgery is essentially the start of the weight loss process and, unlike many forms of surgery which cure your problem more or less on the spot, the results of obesity surgery take some time to show. It is not surprising therefore that problems arise following surgery and this must be carefully considered before you take the decision to take this route.

Building Muscle Takes A Lot More Then Just Lifting Weights

Adding muscle to your body requires the implementation of three critical steps. Miss any one of these steps and your ability to build muscle will be greatly compromised. You're most likely already familiar with the first step which is a good old fashioned bodybuilding workout to stretch and tear your muscles but what about the rest? What else do you need to add huge muscles to your body?

Weight training or working out with weights is the one step most people are familiar with when it comes to building muscle. Through some serious weight training you tear your muscles while working out in the gym and what a lot of gym goers don't realize is that you don't actually build any muscle in the gym. The only thing you're doing to your muscles in the gym is breaking them down and tearing them apart. Before we look at how we actually build the muscle, let's look at what muscles are made of so we have a better idea of how to repair the muscles once we've broken them down in the gym.

Protein and water are the two primary components of your muscles. One of the most misunderstood things about bodybuilding nutrition is that the primary ingredient necessary to building or I should say rebuilding your muscles is protein. If all you want to do is maintain your current body weight then all you have to do is consume a gram of protein for every pound you weigh. If you want to add muscle, you should be consuming about 1.5 - 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight. In addition to protein obviously you need water but you also want to consume a fair amount of carbohydrates so that your body has something to burn for fuel other then the protein in your muscles and the calories you consume.

One point about carbohydrates before we move on. Immediately after you workout and first thing in the morning are the two ideal times to have a carbohydrate/ protein shake. During both of these situations your body's glucose levels are very low, if you have any glucose in your body at all, and you're at risk of having your body eat away at your muscles for energy. You remember that protein in your muscles? Well given the choice between maintaining your muscles or survival your body wll always choose survival and eat away at your muscles! You wouldn't want that now would you?

So make sure you consume plenty of protein and enough carbs to maintain your weight and energy levels but not too much more becuase they will pack on more fat then muscle onto your frame.

Last but certainly not least is rest. The majority of muscle growth will occur while you're sleeping and that's because your muscles need plenty of rest to grow. So make sure you're sleeping at least 7-8 hours every night and if you're really serious about adding muscle then you won't expend too much energy during the day either. Drinking a tall glass of milk and a bowl of cottage cheese right before bedtime has been known to produce immediate results. the casein protein found in these products is ideal for building muscle at night.

So there you have it. As you can see adding muscle to your body is as basic as these three steps. Workout to tear the muscle. Consume plenty of protein and carbohydrates to maintain your weight and add muscle. And finally rest so you can give your muscles a chance to rebuild. Sleep. Eat. Train. Grow. Simple.

Is There a Link Between Obesity and Infertility?

With so many more persons being overweight and out-and-out obese these days, many are wondering if there really is any truth to the rumor that obesity and infertility go hand-in-hand. How is it that being overweight can interfere with your reproductive abilities? How can a few extra pounds mean that much damage to your body? What about those that are obese that have been able to conceive? In order to examine these issues fully, let’s take a look at some of the suspected reasons that obesity and infertility seem to be related.

Reasons for Obesity

Regardless of what some people may assume, it’s generally accepted among the medical community that obesity does not just happen. Some would like to think that it’s all genetic, but many scientists know that when a person changes their eating habits and physical activity levels, they lose weight. So saying that obesity and infertility are two things that you can do nothing about is rather shortsighted – which also should be thought of as good news. If obesity and infertility were all a matter of genetics, then you would be trapped, with no choices or things you can do to fix the situation.

So, when studying the reasons for one’s obesity, we see the connection to infertility. High-fat diets add to elevated cholesterol levels in the body, and as we see cholesterol clinging to the arteries and areas around the heart, it does the same to the reproductive system. Cholesterol chokes out a man’s ability to produce healthy sperm and a woman’s ability to ovulate a healthy egg.

Additionally, another connection between obesity and infertility may have much to do with exercise and physical activity. Exercise gets the blood circulating properly and in a healthy way, and this oxygen-rich blood is necessary for all functions of the body, including the reproductive system. Without the antioxidants provided by blood that’s been freshly filtered through the lungs, any malformation or problems the body has is not going to be fixed or repaired the way it should be.

Extra Body Weight

Another connection between obesity and infertility seems to be the extra body weight itself. This extra weight on a man may block his sperm ducts, and blocked sperm ducts are one of the most common reasons for infertility in men. Additionally, a woman who has extra weight around her midsection may also have problems with ovulation, as this puts undue pressure on the fallopian tubes. It also puts this pressure on the uterus, causing it to contract unnaturally. When a woman’s uterus is compromised, a fertilized egg cannot attach itself, and she will miscarry it before she even knows she is pregnant.

So it seems as if there are some reasons to be concerned about the connection between obesity and infertility. Again, no one wants to be told that they need to lose weight, or to think that their own body weight may be interfering with their plans to have a baby, but at least they know that there is something they can do about the situation!

Antioxidant Nutrition - A Guide

nutritional value

"Antioxidant" is the collective term for the vitamins, carotenoids, minerals and polyphenols that protect the body from harmful free radicals. The most well known antioxidants include the mineral selenium and Vitamins A, C, E. The carotenoids beta-carotene, lutein, and lycopene also have high antioxidant nutrition and are responsible for adding color to many fruits and vegetables. Carrots and pumpkins wouldn't be orange without beta-carotene, for example. Lutein, also important in eyesight, is abundant in leafy green vegetables. Lycopene is present in red fruits and vegetables, most notably in tomatoes. No wonder why many experts stress the importance of eating a "colorful" diet! They know it has tremendous nutritional value.

So why are they called antioxidants? The name represents the mechanism by which they help prevent disease. In humans, a small but significant percentage of oxygen molecules in the body will become electrically charged due to natural cellular activity and/or exposure to environmental factors like tobacco smoke and radiation. The oxygen molecule becomes a "free radical" as it undergoes this process of oxidation. Free radicals are highly reactive as they try to steal electrons from other molecules, including DNA and cellular membranes. This chain reaction of free radicals can damage cells, which may play a role in the development of certain conditions like heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants, however, stop the chain-reaction by giving up electrons and neutralizing free radicals so that they cannot induce any more oxidative damage.

Some studies have shown the link between many degenerative diseases associated with aging and free radicals. Since antioxidant nutrition stops the chain-reaction of oxidation, antioxidants may be effective in treating and reducing the incidences of cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease, immune dysfunction, stroke, cataracts, cancer, cardiovascular disease and macular degeneration.

There is an abundance of Vitamin A in liver, dairy and fish. Vitamin C is found in bell peppers and citrus fruits while Vitamin E is plentiful in oils, fortified cereals, seeds and nuts. The mineral selenium can be found in Brazil nuts, meats, tuna and plant foods. You will find lutein in green vegetables like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, peas and kale. Tomatoes, watermelon, pink grapefruit and papaya are all good sources of lycopene. Beta-carotene is abundant in sweet potatoes, carrots and squash. If you are not getting enough in your diet, the next step you may want to consider is nutritional supplements.

You can find more information on antioxidant nutrition by doing a web search or doing some research at your local library. Finding the right combination of nutritional supplements for you may be as simple as arming yourself with the right data. The best source of information may come from a nutritionist. They can evaluate your diet and make suggestions regarding supplementation.

Adding Chlorella Rich In Nutrients Can Boost Ones Health And Wellness

Each food we eat has a different, specific effect on the body.  Meat and fish are rich in protein and help to build the body’s muscle structure, while carbohydrate foods like bread, rice, potatoes, and pasta are rich in sugar and are instantly converted to energy and also stored for energy.  Vegetables and fruits have an abundant amount of vitamins, minerals, dietary fiver, and antioxidants that help other foods to do their jobs.  Because each food has its own role in the body, getting the correct amount of each food is vital.

One doctor suggests that what and how much to eat should be determined by the number and shape of the teeth.  Since humans have four canine teeth for chewing meats, eight incisor teeth for vegetables and fruits, and 20 molar and pre-molar teeth for grinding staple foods, the ration should be meat one, vegetables two, and staple foods five for a well balanced ratio of eating.

However, today’s typical diet is far from being well-balanced.  Vegetables are usually what lack most in diets, which regulate the body.  Because of this, meat dishes and staple foods can’t do their jobs and instead, remain in the body as fat, making improperly metabolized food cause disease.  This unbalanced diet means that food becomes body fat and increased body fat causes hyperlipema, which clogs the blood with fat, but also raises the risk of diabetes, hypertension, and arteriosclerosis.

Chlorella herbs can be used to effectively supply the body with nutrients that are identical to vegetables.  With eating being one of life’s joys, it is only human instinct to want to eat a lot of delicious food.  This desire often influences our lives.  However, eating an unbalanced diet can increase excessive body fat, leading to a variety of diseases.  Along with balancing the diet, chlorella is able to cleanse the blood by eliminating the excess fat and making blood vessels more flexible.  This helps to lower cholesterol in the blood and liver.  Chlorella also has the ability to improve hypertension, improve diabetes, protect against arteriosclerosis, prevent stomach ulcers, and prevent anemia.

The human digestive system is responsible for taking in necessary nutrients for the maintenance of life.  The intestines can be considered the entrance to the body, where nutrients from food are absorbed.  However, intestines are also the entrance for toxins, which can lead to various diseases such as colon cancer, arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, cystitis, poor skin, headaches, dizziness, stiff shoulders, stomachaches, insomnia, anorexia, hemorrhoids, allergies, and lowered immunity.  Some common toxins include dioxins, heavy metals, residual agricultural chemicals, food additives, and prescription drugs.  All of these materials are highly absorbable, highly residual in the body, and not easily detoxified by just the liver.

It’s necessary to improve liver metabolism to detoxify and regulate the environment inside the body.  Chlorella is able to detoxify the body by boosting liver metabolism and detoxify the poisons that are highly residual and not able to be detoxified by the liver.  As a detoxifier, chlorella is responsible for the detoxification of PCBs, excretion of dioxin, detoxification of heavy metals, and improvement of constipation.  Have you had your chlorella today?

The Best Knee Strengthening Exercises

If you need to get your knees stronger there are a few knee strengthening exercises that are easy to do and will make a huge difference to your fitness

This first exercise is really good for those who suffer from conditions such as chondromalacia patella. This is an inflammation of the cartlidge beneath the patella 'knee cap'.  This sometimes results because the bones and muscles on the knee are out of alignment.

Sit comfortably in a chair, you need to be relaxed.  Bend your legs as you would normally sit on a chair with your feet on the ground and your legs bent at 90 degrees, tense your thigh and hold this position for 5 seconds the release, change legs are repeat.  You need to do ten reps on each leg.  I told you it was easy!

Be sure to breathe normally during the exercise.

Another exercise does a little more to build strength in the muscles that control bending at the knee.

Again make sure you are sitting comfortably, cross your legs at the ankles.  The push your crossed legs forward with the back leg, then push your legs back to being folded with the front leg.  (This may seem a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it it is really easy but effective!)

Switch legs by reversing the direction of the cross. If the right leg was in front, move it to the rear. Repeat the exercise 10 times for each position.

How To Get Those Calves Working

Now for something a little more strenuous.

Depending on your balance and the surface you're standing on, you may need to do this on a mat or carpet, or on a wooden floor. Avoid using a cement or metal floor.

Stand upright, heels together, toes a little apart.  Make sure to keep your balance.

Lift you heels so that your a standing on the balls of your feet.  Be sure to keep your balance!  Hold this position for around 5 seconds.  It may help to imagine an invisible piece of string attached to the top of your head pulling you up. Repeat this lifting ten times.  As you get stronger and build up the strength in your legs you will be able to increase the length of time you can hold the stance.

To intensify this exercises a little try bending your knees whilst you have your heels raised.  By doing this you will also be using the muscles in your quadriceps, hamstrings and buttocks.  Remember to straighten your knees then lower your heels.  Do ten reps.

Doing these knee strengthening exercises daily or at least a couple of times a week will really improve the strength of your knee.  And if you are interested in fitness you will know how important it is to have healthy, strong knees.

If you want to tone up the rest of your legs, take a look at these details for the best leg exercises.  These exercises will help you build strong, sexy legs quickly.  To get the rest of your body into shape, find loads of health and fitness tips here.

Free Radical Fighter - Alpha Lipoic Acid

nutritional value

You've heard of antioxidants and how they neutralize harmful chemicals called free radicals in the body. You may not be aware of an antioxidant that occurs naturally inside every cell of the body and is found in some green vegetables, organ meats, rice bran and Brewer's yeast. Alpha lipoic acid (or ALA) is produced in small amounts by our bodies. Used in nutritional supplement form, it treats such ailments as diabetic neuropathy, coronary heart disease and other serious illnesses.

Alpha lipoic acid is used to treat a common complication of diabetes called peripheral neuropathy. It speeds the removal of glucose from the bloodstream, at least partly by enhancing insulin function, and it reduces insulin resistance, the basis of many cases of coronary heart disease and obesity. It significantly and rapidly reduces the frequency and severity of diabetic neuropathy symptoms like burning and sharply cutting pain, prickling sensations and numbness.

Because of those reasons, ALA is also used to treat a myriad of other illnesses and diseases like cataracts, hardening of the arteries, hepatitis, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, high cholesterol levels, and even human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Alpha lipoic acid has very few side effects.

How Is Alpha Lipoic Acid Unique?

nutritional value

What has been described as a "universal," "ideal," and "metabolic" antioxidant? Alpha lipoic acid or ALA. It neutralizes free radicals in both the fatty and watery regions of cells. It helps produce the energy for our body's normal function by converting glucose (blood sugar) into energy. Our bodies produce this fatty acid in small amounts. It occurs naturally in foods like spinach, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, peas, Brewer's yeast, rice bran and organ meats. ALA is used to treat many serious illnesses.

Used to treat a common complication of diabetes called peripheral neuropathy, alpha lipoic acid speeds the removal of glucose from the bloodstream.

Chlorella Is A Nutrient Rich Algae That Can Boost Ones Health And Wellness

A lot of us eat without really thinking about the food that we are putting into our bodies.  This is extremely unfortunate because diet is crucial to human health.  A good diet depends on choosing what to eat and how much to eat, because otherwise food can actually harm someone.  People’s food choices in Japan have significantly changed in recent years, with the Japanese diet becoming more and more like the American and European diet, leading to an increase in various diseases that are associated with the Western diet increasing in Japan.  This new Japanese diet is high in protein and fat and low in fiber, just the way the Western diet is.

These dietary changes have caused an increase in body fat, sticky blood, damaged blood vessel walls, and rise in dietary-related diseases like hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, cancer, heart disease, and cerebrovascular disease.  These diseases are abundant in Western countries, with the number one cause of death in the United States being heart disease.  It has been found that the main cause of death in many advanced countries is related to diet.

Chlorella has the ability to prevent diseases that are caused by diet.  Chlorella is a type of algae, the very origin of the food chain, and is a highly regarded health-food supplement for use in maintaining the human body.  Introduced to the health-food marketplace about 40 years ago, chlorella was first established in Japan and today is produced by Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

Not only is it used for health-food supplementation, but also in processed foods, food additives, medication additives, marine feeds, feed additives, and fertilizers.  Chlorella is helpful in supplementing nutrients of high-quality, plant-based proteins, vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, and antioxidants.  It has been shown to help lower cholesterol, regulate the intestines, detoxify the body, lower blood pressure, and regulate the immune system,  In short, chlorella helps the human body to maintain balance.

It is likely that Chlorella appeared on the Earth many thousands of years ago.  It is a fresh-water, one-celled green algae that can be found widely in lakes and marshes throughout the world.  This plant was discovered and named by M.W. Beyerinck of Holland in 1890.  In size, chlorella is 2 to 10 microns, which is slightly smaller than a red blood cell.  It is an ancestor of such vegetables as spinach and pumpkins.  As compared to other plants, chlorella has a high concentration of chlorophyll, making its capability for photosynthesis many times higher than that of other plants.  Because of its high-quality, plant-based protein, vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, and antioxidants, chlorella is able to maintain human health and prevent and treat disease.

Diseases including hyperlipemia, hypertension, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, heart disease, stroke, and cancer are closely related to diet.  Heredity, aging, and environmental factors including chemical substances and stress are also all liked to the above diseases.  These diseases are on the rise in advanced countries, with a lot of them being the most prevalent causes of death in many countries.  To prevent diet-related illnesses, the diet must be balanced and lowered immune function must be improved.

The body also needs to be protected from health-threatening chemical substances and stress.  Scientists have found that Chlorella is effective for balancing the diet, improving lowered cell function and resistance, and detoxifying chemicals and alleviating stress.  Many diet-related diseases can be prevented and treated by simply adding chlorella algae to ones diet.

On The Go? Handy Health Nutrition Products

It is undeniable that the industry of health nutrition products has grown significantly with a lot of career-driven individuals spending so much more time at work with no time to think about proper food and exercise. With such busy lives, most people have now realized the cost of having a full life and are now more conscious about their health that was taking a back seat.

The emergence of various health nutrition products supports the career-oriented men and women with their busy lifestyles by supplementing them with proper nutrition. Having little time to plan and eat a good nutritional meal is no longer an excuse to lack the vitamins and minerals needed to continue living healthily and actively. In addition, these health nutrition products have become readily available and relatively affordable, with more and more people finding these as convenient ways to keep the body in good shape.

The Growing Number of Options In Health Nutrition Products

For individuals on the career fast track, it is certainly a welcome sight to see a such a wide variety of health nutrition products in the market. This means they are not stuck with buying something that they are not terribly fond of in the first place. Instead, they can now choose anything they want that tickles their taste buds and whatever suits their particular dietary needs. Unlike in the past when health nutrition products were limited to a few variants in specialty stores, the options have grown considerably with a specific product fit for a particular age, gender, deficiency or activity level.

While ignorance to the harm that may be caused by the deficiency or excess in a certain vitamin or mineral posed a serious threat in the past, recent literature has already provided knowledge on health nutrition products. These days, people are empowered with the required tools to properly choose the vitamins and minerals they need. They are now made aware of how proteins, amino acids and some vitamins may not do the body any good when taken incorrectly. Proteins and amino acids must be complemented with exercise while some vitamins need to be taken in moderation.

With the demand for health nutrition products going up, the supply has also adjusted. Besides specialty stores who had previously dominated the market, local drug stores have also been selling health nutrition products. Various forms and blends have also been introduced by different companies. Today, we have bars, powders, pills, suspensions and drinks. With the exonomic change in supply and demand, prices have also gone down, thereby allowing those with lower incomes to afford health nutrition products.

Although most branded health nutrition products still sell remarkably well despite the high price, many have accepted the value of buying the much cheaper generic products, which practically offer the same benefits.

Is Natural Mineral Water Healthy? Discover the True Facts About Mineral Water

Is natural mineral water healthy? How many of you know the answer for this question? What really surprises me is that a lot of people do not really know the answer for this seemingly easy question. The answer is yes. Natural mineral water is healthy and it is very, very essential for your body. We need water to function as more than 70% of our body is composed of nothing but water.

If water is all we need, why not drink any water? Why do doctors consider mineral water healthy? These are, again, valid questions. But you have to understand that naturally occurring water contains a lot of essential minerals. These minerals are very, very important for our body. The problem with the water filter units today is that most of those units destroy these essential minerals while purifying water. As a result, the water you get is de-mineralized and it's not fit for drinking.

Reverse osmosis and point of use distillation are two such water purification methods which make water completely undrinkable. Both these methods don't give a hundred percent pure water as the former is not capable of removing herbicide traces from water and the latter is not capable of removing organic compounds from water. And to make things worse, both these methods destroy the essential minerals present in water. Completely unaware of this, a lot of people are using RO filter units and distillation units.

Some people are just too smart. They use mineral revitalization systems. This is the perfect way of beating around the bush. These systems work in a peculiar way. They have two units - one for purifying water and the other for re-mineralizing water. The purifying unit usually consists of RO filters or distillation units. They completely destroy the essential minerals present in water. And then the revitalization unit re-mineralizes the water. And then they come up with fancy names like natural mineral water H20 and stuff like that.

The only question you need to ask yourself is - why use such systems which are time consuming and laborious when you have methods like active carbon block filtration which is simply way more effective than any other methods today? The truth is, not many people realize the amazingly simple method in which active carbon filters work.

Active carbon blocks are considered very effective in removing different types of contaminants present in water. In a multi chambered carbon filter, there are more than two of such blocks and water passes through all these blocks. As a result, the water you get is very pure. Most importantly, these blocks don't destroy the essential minerals present in water. So, there you have it. Your quest for the perfect natural mineral water H20 has finally ended.

And don't just take my word for it. Multi chambered carbon filtration is considered the best water purification method and it is recommended by doctors around the world.

The way I see it, people who consider natural mineral water healthy will not ever use a water purification system which destroys the essential minerals present in water. Now, my question to you is - are you one of them? If you are, buy the best product today and don't settle for anything less.

Exercise To Treat Anxiety

Exercise is one of the best ways that you can help your anxiety naturally, without pills and other medications.  Exercise is the “cure all” for just about everything.  The reason exercise works so well is that it releases endorphins to the brain and gives your mind a boost of serotonin.  This is the same way that many SSRIs work.  Not only that, but exercise puts you in control of your body and is a proactive approach in treating your health.

Most anxiety disorders all have one component in common - control.  People who are worried about losing control are often those who are the most anxious.  While most people accept the fact that control is not necessarily in their hands at all times, those with anxiety cannot accept this fact.  They feel that they need control in order to function.  The loss of control can send them into a tailspin that launches a full anxiety attack.

While we cannot control everything that happens in our lives, we do have control when it comes to our bodies.  And we can exercise.  Exercise is the wonder cure.  It helps alleviate anxiety by working out the stress that you are feeling as well as raising endorphins that send messages to your brain.  What can be better than that?

In the morning, you can perform cardiovascular exercises.  This includes running, jogging, stair climbing and even elliptical workouts.  Whatever you can do to get the old ticker working will do just fine when you are exercising to treat anxiety.  This will not only help you mentally, but physically as well.  It will burn off calories and keep your heart in good shape.  But do not do cardiovascular exercises before you go to bed or else you may have a difficult time falling asleep.

Prior to going to bed, you may incorporate some Pilates exercises or even some Yoga.  These are stretching exercises that will relax you as well as keep you in good shape.  You can be relaxed and feel ready for a good night’s sleep when you are practicing these exercises at night.   You do not have to attend Yoga classes to learn the moves and you do not have to contort your body into all sorts of impossible shapes.  The main thing is that you learn how to stretch and relax.

By exercises to treat anxiety and depression, you do not only boost your mood and relax your body, you give yourself something to concentrate on, instead of concentrating on yourself.  An exercises routine will take away the troubles that you have in your mind and give you something else on which to focus.  It truly is the cure all for anxiety and depression.

Fast Food Can Be Good For Your Heart

A lot of individuals eat on the run in today’s fast-paced society. Eating at home is generally healthier than restaurant fare. But eating fast food doesn't mean you have to make unhealthy choices. The next time you're eating on the run, keep these pointers in mind to help you make better choices.

A lot of fast food franchises are well aware of the poor reputation that fast food has for clogging up the arteries. To address this problem, they’ve brought in menu options that are healthier. For example, lots of fast food chains now offer salad as a side dish option. But be careful that you don't load up on dressing that's full of saturated fat. And if your salad comes complete with deep fried chicken on top, you can be sure it's not as heart healthy as the one featuring grilled chicken.

Choose grilled chicken instead of deep fried for your sandwich. As well, it’s usually a good idea to request as many veggies as possible to be included in your sandwich. Rather than using mayonnaise for a dressing, choose ketchup or mustard, which are low in saturated fat.

Choose fruit or salad as a side dish rather than fries. So instead of a lunch laden with saturated fat, you'll be feeding your body the fiber and vitamins it needs. Instead of soda, pick juice or milk to drink with your meal. This can aid in maintaining normal blood sugar and give you additional vitamins and minerals.

When you're truly craving a hamburger and fries, it's ok to give in once in a while. However, watch out for the size of the serving. Sometimes portion sizes at fast food franchises are so large they could easily feed two people. Choosing a kid's meal or a small burger with french fries will help to hold down the amount of saturated fat you consume.

If you’re giving your kids fast food, don't forget that there are often healthy choices like apple slices and mandarin oranges available. Instead of soda, order milk or fruit juice.

In a Mexican fast food place, you can eat surprisingly healthfully by choosing a simple taco or burrito. By loading it up with lots of veggies, you'll be able to raise the fiber content. Although a taco salad might seem healthy, it’s often laden with saturated fat and calories.

Choosing fast food for the majority of your meals can take its toll on your heart health when you don’t make good choices. Eating at home is the best choice. But if that's not practical, take a look at some of the healthier choices available.

Vitamin C: The Immunity Booster

Remember your mom insisting that you eat citrus fruits regularly when you were a kid? Nothing could be more beneficial! Citrus fruits are a warehouse of Vitamin C, which we need to ensure proper functioning of various organs and systems in our body. So thank your mom, and make sure your kids too get the right amount of Vitamin C from their diet.

Oranges, lemons, tangerines, limes, grapefruit, tropical guava, and kiwi fruit are excellent sources of Vitamin C. Papaya, strawberries, black currants, red peppers, tomatoes; potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower are some other sources. If you include these in your family’s diet, there will be no need for Vitamin C supplements.

Vitamin C performs various immunity functions; it helps in wound healing and prevents infections from spreading. Vitamin C is essential to prevent scurvy and for sperm production. It provides energy and aids in the production of certain hormones that help to fight-off stress. It also protects against heart ailments. It addition, it is essential for the formation and health of cartilage, skin, and blood vessels and helps our body to easily excrete toxins.

Research indicates that low levels of Vitamin C in the body show a strong correlation with cancers of the esophagus, mouth, stomach, and pancreas. Another research shows that consuming small amounts of citrus fruits reduces the incidence of skin cancer. Some studies suggest that Vitamin C can help control pain and inflammation. However, Vitamin C cannot help you cure colds, contrary to popular belief.

To ensure that you get adequate amounts of Vitamin C from your diet keep cooking time and temperature at a minimum. Also, don’t throw away the water you used in the cooking process. You can store cut fruits and vegetables in the fridge for future use without them losing too much of Vitamin C. However, don’t cook in copper vessels. An interesting fact is that Vitamin C levels in fruits vary with ripeness. For example, in some fruits, unripe versions have more Vitamin C than very ripe ones, and in other fruits the case is just opposite.  In addition, different varieties of the same fruit tend to have different levels of Vitamin C. This is clearly demonstrated in the case of the tropical guava.

The recommended daily intake varies between 30 and 60 mg across different studies. Research indicates that women who are pregnant or lactating may have a higher requirement. However, just because Vitamin C has loads of health benefits you don’t need to consume vast amounts of fruits and vegetables rich in this vitamin. Remember to add five fruits and vegetables in your daily diet; choose whichever you like and eat moderately. Fruits like grapefruit are known to react with some prescription drugs, so consult your doctor before you include this fruit in your diet. Consumption of too much Vitamin C either through dietary sources or by way of supplements may lead to severe indigestion, headache, and excessive urination. So the health tip is: “don’t overdo!”
