Tips to help you lose 10 pounds

You don't need to read more obesity statistics, you need to learn how to lose 10 pounds. And fast. That's what most people want, how to lose weight fast. But it's just not the right way to go about it. If you really want to lose weight and keep it off, you'll take the steps that will get you there and keep you there.

There are no quick fixes to weight loss. You can lose 10-20 pounds in a month with some diet pills and other drastic measures but once you stop taking those pills or stop starving yourself the weight will start to come back on and you'll be right back where you started.

Get out of the habit of thinking you can do it overnight. Yes, you can try and lose weight quickly to look better for a date but if they don't like you for how you look then why would you want to be with that person in the first place? And remember, there are billions of other ones out there - men and women.

It takes about a month for a new habit to take hold. You need to do something for 30 days for you to be able to do it for the rest of your life.

Adding habits such as walking and exercising 2-3 times a week take time, motivation and discipline to develop.

Cutting back on your portion size is not easy. You may go for a week of eating healthier and then just one day you'll have a really bad day at work and won't care about what you eat or how much you eat that day and all your good work will be lost.

The key to success in losing 10 pounds or more is to keep at it, to keep trying and not giving up. Once you make up your mind to doing it, you're halfway there.

How to lose 10 pounds a year

I'm sure you've seen these articles that tell you how to lose 10 pounds in a year by cutting out 100 calories a day. If not, here's another of them. If you just stop and think about how little 100 calories is then you'll realize just how easy this simple plan is to do.

If you want to stay at your current weight you have to burn as many calories as you take in. If you don't you gain weight as your body stores the extra calories in the form of fat. If you burn more calories then you eat then obviously you'll lose weight.

But the idea is not to starve yourself. It only takes a little bit to get the ball rolling. And then once you start it soon you'll have a snowball effect and start looking more like an hourglass instead of an apple or a pear.

The idea is to eat 100 calories less per day and in one year's time, you'll have lost 10 pounds. Without much effort if you think about it. It has to be a habit for it to work. If it's not a habit don't bother. It just won't stick.

Some of my favorite foods are hot wings, Italian food, and pizza. I'm not going to give up those foods. What I can cut out of my regular eating is cutting down on my portion sizes of all my favorite foods. I can eat 30 hot wings instead of 40 or 50. I can eat one less piece of garlic bread that comes with the Cajun chicken pasta from Chili's. Yum.

One tip for cutting down on your portions when you go out to eat is either tell the server to give you a half-sized portion of your meal or make sure you order the soup or salad that they usually have. Eat a bowl of minestrone soup or a salad with Italian dressing.

This way, when you get your meal, you'll already be half way full and you'll only have half a meal to eat. And without the full portion on your plate, you won't be tempted to finish it all because you think you're wasting it. I do this all the time and get so stuffed. Try it.

Simple changes like these are enough to help you lose 10 pounds a year.

How to lose ten pounds eating by eating

We all want to know how to lose ten pounds, we all want the secrets of losing weight and keeping it off and we don't want to work too hard to do it because we don't have a lot of time to workout. Does that sound familiar?

I know it does for me. I want to lose ten pounds but I don't really want to exercise that much. I'd rather modify my eating habits because that is just easier for me to do.

Most people struggle to lose weight and then even when they do they struggle to maintain their current weight. I've been able to maintain my weight lately by eating foods that are low on the glycemic index. These foods keep you fuller longer and keep your cravings down.

I need to add more low GI foods to my diet to get rid of my belly. If you want to learn how to lose ten pounds without exercising then read more about the glycemic index and low gi foods, some of these foods are also called negative calorie foods as they are low calories foods and they use more energy in your body than they take in.
